A nightly experience

In the music of the night
I found a sense of peace
I discovered words to an unwritten song
I came to grips with my spirit

Oh! Oh how free
how freely my spirit soared
feasting on silent melodies
softly felt harmonies
gently they lifted my senses

I see what the moon sees
I hear what the stars hear
I smell what the dark shadowed smell
There is passion in the air

Oh! how freshly I feel
it’s as if I stumbled upon
stumbled upon a piece of the titanic
worth Amazon’s fortune…

A voice in my head shouted: “DON’T SELL IT”

Sell I will not…oh no
I won’t sell, money doesn’t
buy this type of experience
and for that I am truly glad!

HOW COME?

No one owns the night
The tranquility of the moon
can not be sold to the highest bidder
The intimacy of the stars
can not be auctioned off…

I now understand and can say with sheer delight
the best things in life are free
Now all I have to do is
is survive another sunrise and sunset

Absolutely beautiful truths in your poem as always and I loved these concluding lines – it is indeed about having the blessing of being alive to yet another sunrise or sunset, and then staying awake to that.

    No one owns the night
    The tranquility of the moon
can not be sold to the highest bidder
    The intimacy of the stars
    can not be auctioned off…

  4. There’s so much passion for life in your words Tony. It does my spirit good to read your poetry. I need to remember to appreciate the simple, but inspiring things in life and stop and smell the roses more or feel the night are and live in the moment. Thank you for being a shining light. πŸ™‚β€
