Who I am won’t change even with a lie! Even with switch coding! Even with a mask!
When we can be comfortable in our own skin is when we are most adaptable.
And eventually, when there’s a intimate inquiry pertaining to our personal identity, we will experience and convey uncertainty, inconsistency—a fretful kind of hesitancy. Internally, we feel like gold plated tarnished jewelry and like frauds—empty shells that worry constantly about what others think of us.
Needless to say, a faulty identity creates more mask to wear and to hide behind. You do not want people to know you. You want them to know what you present. I found it to be simple to bask in my identity rooted in truth and with God that is not finicky like people. My identity found in Christ Jesus is sufficient. No more hiding for me! For I am not ashamed of who I am!
A wonderfully self-empowering post! ❤
