Storytellers with glorified lines
Words come together sometimes
With reason and no rhyme
For poets, expression is not a crime
Your word selection…Your Voice
Free Verse that’s another choice
A completed thought…let’s rejoice
A pouring out is not by force
Though the heart feels compelled
It frees the soul to touch, taste and tell
The testimony of victory or pain
A poet’s story is more important than fame

I love the last line especially..A poet is compelled by himself or herself to write poetry..not for fame and fortune, but to use this gift and share it with others, hopefully bridging the divide with poems that touch others and cause a positive effect just by sharing their history and their thoughts.
